Mia is a 17 year old girl involved in a horrible car accident that kills her Mother, Father and little brother. She watches the aftermath of the accident on the highway as the paramedics tend to the victims. She soon realizes that she is the girl lying lifeless on the pavement. She continues to watch herself as she is transported to the hospital and placed in ICU on life support. The story weaves together the present details of the hospital scene and the recent past of Mia, her life with her beloved family, her growing romance with her boyfriend, her love for classical music, and her desire to play the cello at Julliard. This is the story of what might happen when a soul is torn between choosing to live or choosing to surrender to death.
